We Were Meant for More

We live in a fallen world. It’s sad but true. In this world, we find anger, suffering, fear, hunger, loneliness, and hopelessness. It’s hard to imagine the world being any different because, unfortunately, this is the norm. However, we were meant for more than this world. God never wanted this life for us. However, this is the life that humankind chose. By choosing to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, Adam and Eve chose to live a life away from God. In order to rectify this, Jesus came as a sacrifice so that we may be saved and so that we may have a close relationship with Him.

“And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” – John 6:40

Jesus came for us. He came so that we would not need to be angry, suffer, fear, be hungry, be lonely, or be hopeless. He came to take all of that away and to replace it with love, peace, courage, fulfillment, companionship, and hope. He came to give us a new life. We were meant for so much more than this world.

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” – Romans 12:2

The following Bible verses that I will attach here are Bible verses that show us that we were meant for more. They show us God’s love, truth, grace, and mercy. Do not let the lies of this world bring you down. Look to His word for clarity and truth. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and show you God’s will. As that one saying says, “let go and let God”.

“My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.” – James 1:19-20

“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” – 1 Peter 5:10

“The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” – Proverbs 29:25

“And Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst…Most assuredly I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. I am the bread of life.” – John 6:35, 47

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:31-39

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” – Romans 15:4
