The Greatest Gift

Happy belated Christmas everyone! I hope you all had an amazing holiday filled with loved ones and good times. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. As time has gone by, the meaning behind why we celebrate Christmas has become more and more meaningful to me. Even though Jesus Christ was not actually born on December 25th, we take that time to remember the day in which our savior was born. With this being the last Friday of the year, I wanted to talk about the greatest gift God has given us.

The fourth yet greatest gift is Jesus Himself. He has been with us since the beginning of time and will never leave our side. He came into this world, became a man, and gave His life for us. The significance of what Jesus did for us is lost to those who do not know Him. However, to those who fervently seek Him, what He did is life-changing for us. We stop living for ourselves and start living for Him. His love, mercy, and joy have filled our lives and all we want to do is share that same joy with others. It is for that same reason that I started this blog.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17-21

As you all know. Christmas is where we celebrate the birth of Jesus. Most people when they think of the story think about the shepherds in the field who saw angels, the three wise men, the journey Mary and Joseph took, and of the star that was shining brightly in the sky when Jesus was born. For a while now, I have focused on how our Lord and Savior was a baby. I can’t help but wonder what kind of baby He must have been. He must have been one of the most beautiful things anyone has ever laid their eyes on. A sweet innocent baby who would one day grow up and change the entire world.  That sweet precious baby would one day give His life for me.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” – John 3:16-17

We have been saved through the immense love Jesus had for us. The birth of Christ was not the beginning of His story because Jesus has been with us since the beginning of time. His death was not the end of His story because not only was He resurrected, but He now lives in us. Over the past few months, I have done my best to describe to you all what it is like to live in His presence. However, you will not know what it is like until you yourself accept Him in your life.

As this year comes to a close, I pray that you all come to know Him. I pray that you see His works in your life and that you see His blessings all around you. I pray that you come to see how much you need Him and ask Him to fill your life. I pray that your lives be transformed from this day on and that you never look back. He loves you and is preparing a place for you. A place so beautiful it is beyond words. A place we will one day call home. All that you need to do is accept Him in your life and let Him work in it.

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” – Romans 10:9-10
