Prayer is extremely important. The question is, what do we pray for? We pray for ourselves, our family, our friends, and even for our jobs. All of these things are good to pray for. However, how many of us spend time praying for our nation?

To be completely honest, I forget to pray for our country sometimes. It’s just, by the time I get through praying for all of my loved ones, I forget to pray for the land in which I live. It is important to pray for our government officials and for our country. Especially with everything that’s going on right now, our country needs our prayers.

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”- 2 Chronicles 7:14

This week, I hope you will all join me in prayer for our nation. This beautiful country that we call home needs our prayers. We live in such perilous and harsh times. Let us pray that His love shows through and that His mercy be on us. We ALL need God more than ever.

Dear Lord,

I want to thank You for our country. We live in a place where we do not have to fear going to church and worshiping You publicly. However, we are seeing it more and more that Your people are being silenced. That your word is being twisted.

Everything that is good is now considered bad and everything bad is now considered good.
Father, I ask that You open the eyes and the hearts of everyone in this country. That we may come to see how much we need You, Lord. That Your people be bold and that they may profess Your name on high. Set our hearts ablaze, Lord. May Your will be done in our lives, Father.

I pray for all of our government officials. From our mayor’s, to our governor’s, all the way to our president, God. May You be at the forefront of all their decisions. If they don’t know You, may they be saved by Your Grace. Give them the knowledge and the guidance they need to best fulfill Your will for this nation. May their council be wise council from others who know You, Lord.

God, I pray for an awakening in this nation. May those who don’t know You come to know You. May those who say they know You be awakened. We have been silent for far too long, Lord. Give us the courage to stand up in Your name. May we no longer live in fear of what others may say. Give us the peace to know that You are stronger than anything we may face. There is no need to be afraid. As Your word says, if You are for us, who can be against us? May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Bless Your people. Bless this nation, God. We thank You for Your love and mercy, Father. You have not left us forsaken. Keep us in Your hands. Thank You God for everything You do.
