No Need to Fear

I am sure most of you have noticed how all forms of media have been overtaken by news of the Coronavirus. It is a big deal. Universities are going remote. Different sports associations are canceling their seasons. Whole countries are in lockdown to contain the spread of this virus. Stores are running out of preventative supplies. Here in Florida, I would say the biggest news would be that even Disney has closed its doors. Everyone seems to be in a panic over Covid-19.

“Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be strong, do not fear! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, With the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” – Isaiah 35:4

I know that the media is making all of this sound scary. I know that it is also scary not to be able to know who is carrying the virus or if a certain surface you touch is contaminated or not. However, I also know that we have a God who is greater than this virus. Our God has not left us in the dark nor will He ever leave us to fend for ourselves. As we do what we can to take the proper precautions, know that God is with you and He will keep you safe.

“The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; Though war should rise against me, in this I will be confident.” – Psalm 27:1-3

Remember that Jesus promised that He would come back one day. This world is temporary, but He is eternal. We can live confidently knowing that we have a loving and caring God who guides us and protects us. As I mentioned in my last post, you can find this truth within the Bible. Not only is Jesus taking care of us, but He is making a home for us in heaven. So, do not fear the things of this earth. Instead, keep your faith in Him and He will give you the peace you need to no longer be afraid.

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27
