My Love Letter
Praise the Lord! Again, I say, praise the Lord all who read this. He is good. Even in the midst of all this darkness, we can find things to be thankful for. Maybe some may see me as naïve and immature for not taking in the gravity of all that is happening in this world. However, the truth is that God has given me unexplainable joy, peace, and courage. For once in my life, I am not afraid because I know that everything will be alright. This week’s blog is going to be a little different. Normally I write about a specific topic, but this time I want to specifically dedicate this piece to our Lord and Savior. This is my love letter to my God who has set me free.
“Blessed the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore! From the rising of the sun to its going down. The Lord’s name is to be praised.” – Psalm 113:2-3
Father, I want to first and foremost thank You for all the blessings in my life. You have given me so much even when I didn’t deserve anything. Your love and mercy are overwhelming. I have never felt a love so strong and so pure as the love that You have for me, Jesus. You hear the desires of my heart and You have given to me in abundance. How can I ever repay what You have done for me? Being an imperfect human, I know I never could. Even so, you love me still. Your love for me is so great. I thank you, Lord, for choosing me to be one of Your beloved children.
“Who is like the Lord our God, Who dwells on high, Who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in the heavens and in the earth?” – Psalm 113:5-6
There is no one like You, God. You came to give Your life for us and all You ask is for us to follow You. Everything I am, everything I have, and everything I will be is Yours, Jesus. How could I not trust in You? Just in my own life, you have helped me overcome so much. There is nothing You cannot overcome. Everything bows to Your will, Lord. You parted the Red Sea, You stilled the wind and waves, You healed countless people from their sicknesses, and You overcame death itself. There is nothing You cannot overcome. That is why, even in the darkest times, I trust You. I know everything will be ok.
“Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; He is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous… Surely he will never be shaken; The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord. ” – Psalm 112:4, 6-7
Father, I want my life to speak of You. May it be that those who hear my story see Your grace and glory in it. May it be You who stands out. As it says in Psalm 115: 1, “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, because of Your truth”. May others see that the reason I am different is because of You. I want to live my life for You, Jesus. You are the one who has saved me. You are the one who has redeemed me. You are the one who has set me free. I am not ashamed to be called a daughter of Christ.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” – Romans 1:16-17
I pray that those who have strayed from You come back to You. I know that just like with the prodigal son, You will welcome them back with open arms. May others see how much they need You in their lives. Without You we have nothing. All the things of this earth could not fill that void. But You, my God and Savior, You fill us and complete us. Your love is enough. May we never forget everything that You do for us.
“But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!” – Psalm 115:18
