Jesus is the Answer
Have you ever felt lost and confused? Or have you ever felt like your life had no meaning to it? I know I’ve felt like that before. I’ve felt lost, alone, empty, ashamed, meaningless, and broken. These are things that most people can relate to. We try to look for the answers to our questions in all the wrong places. What some people either fail to realize or don’t want to realize is that we can find all the answers in God through the Holy Spirit.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13
When we look at the many examples in the Bible, we see countless people who were just like us. They were lost and alone. However, their lives changed dramatically when they accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. They no longer felt broken. They no longer felt ashamed. They no longer felt lonely because not only did Jesus cleanse them of their sins, but He also now abided in them. This wasn’t done just for them, but it is also done in you when you accept Jesus into your heart.
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:14-19
I’ve come to realize that everyone is looking for something. Maybe they are looking for answers to the meaning of life. Maybe they are looking for someone or something to fill that empty void. Or maybe they are searching for a greater purpose in their lives. Whatever it is that you are searching for, the only one who can answer your questions is Jesus Christ.
“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” – John 15:7
It is through Him that we have true love, meaning, confidence, guidance, and security. Even in hard times, He is there to get us through it and to protect us. A great example of that can be found in Acts chapter 14. Paul and Barnabas went to preach the gospel in Lystra. Some Jews who did not believe came from another town to convince people of that town to stone Paul. He was thought to be dead, so they threw his body outside of the town after his stoning. However, when the disciples came to him, Paul simply got up like nothing had happened and went back into the town. God protected Paul from harm and because he was filled with the Holy Spirit, he continued to spread God’s word with joy.
I can imagine that some people may think that his stoning must not have been that bad if Paul was able to just get up like nothing. However, the townspeople thought he was dead. If that is true, then they must have been casting stones at him with all of their strengths. In any “normal” circumstance, Paul should have at least been incapacitated for a while. But as we see, Paul was perfectly fine because God protected him. You may be thinking that things like this don’t happen anymore. God doesn’t just protect people as He did with Paul, but that is not true. God is still protecting us and taking care of us today. He has not abandoned us.
“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.” – Psalm 5:11
We are living in scary and confusing times. Stop looking for answers in all the wrong places. Our hearts are searching for something. What most don’t realize is that our hearts are looking for Him because our hearts belong to Him. Jesus is the answer. We need to come back to Him…now more than ever.
“Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; 39 and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.” – Acts 13:38-39
