Finding Comfort

Hello, again my fellow Christ-followers. Before I begin, I wanted to take this time to apologize for my inconsistency. A lot has been going on in my life that has kept me busy. However, just know that I am doing my best to keep up with the blog posts and that I will continue with this until God shows me otherwise. Until then, we will continue on this journey together.

I don’t know about you guys, but with everything that is happening in this world, being able to be immersed in the Word of God is comforting to me. Not just reading it, but also talking about it with others. I mean, that is something that God tells us to do. I always thought it was because it was more for His benefit. However, I’ve come to see that it is for our benefit too. We get to share the greatest love we have ever know with others in the hope that they too come to know Him. God has transformed our lives for the better and we just want the same for others.

“Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.” – Psalm 96:3

In these dark times, we long to be comforted. My advice to you is to grow closer to God. He is the source of all comfort. Time and time again we have seen that He is with us through good times and bad times. Yes, the bad times suck. However, God can turn all that bad into good. We can find several examples of that within His Word. We just need to take the time to cultivate our relationship with Him.

“Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away?  Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.” – Jeremiah 23:23-24

God is everywhere and in everything. Take comfort in knowing that He will never leave your side. We have an ever-present God who loves us beyond comprehension. Grow close to Him and He will provide for your needs. When I’ve needed courage, God was there. When I needed confidence, God was there. When I needed a father, God was there. When I needed a shoulder to cry on, God was there. He is always there. Come back to Him today. We do not know how much time we have left, so why let this moment pass? Come to Jesus and He will be your everlasting comfort.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ.”

Awesome post!! I have to confess, there are certainly times when I feel God is so far away, or worse, has left me completely to fend off my struggles on my own, but that’s simply not the truth. God never left me, in fact, he was a part of every detail of my life!!! What a God we serve!!! Praise be to him forever!!!
