Find Comfort in His Word

Today’s post is going to be a short entry. Honestly, I’ve been thinking about how so many people focus on all the bad things going around in their lives and they can’t seem to find any comfort. I can’t lie and say that I’ve never been dismayed by what is happening around me. However, in those times I always seek comfort in God’s word. I want to share with you the three verses that always give me comfort in knowing that no matter what, everything is going to be ok.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I WILL NOT LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU.” – Joshua 1:5

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

These three verses have gotten me through heartbreak, through troubled times, through sleepless nights. Anytime I’ve felt down, upset, or troubled, I would pray and say these verses. Each of us can find comfort in God’s word. Maybe these verses can provide you with comfort as well. However, I encourage you all to dive into your Bibles and get to know God yourself. While getting to know Him, He will show you a verse that will provide you with the comfort you need.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,” – 2 Corinthians 1:3
